The Coweta Community Foundation has announced that it has begun accepting applications for its Coweta County Schools Classroom Educational Grants and will do so through Nov. 1.

This is the second year the Foundation is awarding such grants, and these grants are now awarded annually.

The Foundation will give a total of six grants in the amount of $750 each. Two will be given to elementary schools, two will be given to middle schools, and two will be given to high schools.

These grants can be used only for classroom educational purposes and cannot be used for school clubs, organizations or teams.

The 2015-2016 grants were used for projects including a STEM Lab at Eastside Elementary School, a coding project made possible by new iPads at White Oak Elementary School, and a STEM project with solar cars at East Coweta Middle School.

Classroom teachers may obtain applications by contacting the CCF office or the principal of their school. Deadline for submission is Nov. 1, and grants will be decided Dec. 16. Winning teachers and the principal of each school chosen for a grant will need to be available Jan. 20, 2017, at 9 a.m. for a presentation at the Foundation’s annual grants reception.
