Georgia Department of Transportation projects to improve highway infrastructure throughout metro Atlanta continue this weekend, weather permitting. Construction on the I-285 northbound and southbound ramps to I-20 westbound and the Downtown connector will require lane closures, which, in turn, are likely to result in delays. Motorists are advised to exercise caution by reducing speed while driving through work zones.
The Georgia DOT encourages motorists to call 511, visit www.511ga.org or check the 511 Georgia and Atlanta Traffic app before departing for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
Planned work this weekend is as follows:
Northwest Corridor Express Lanes
· On I-285, three eastbound lanes will close between Cumberland Blvd and the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-285, three westbound lanes will close between SR 3/Northside Drive and Cobb Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-285, one right eastbound lane will close between I-75 interchange and Cumberland Blvd from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· The on-ramp from Cobb Parkway to I-285 eastbound will close from 9:30 a.m., until 4 p.m. Saturday.
· On I-285, the westbound collector-distributer lanes will close between Powers Ferry Road and the I-75 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, two southbound lanes will close between SR 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway and SR 280/ Delk Road from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., Friday and Saturday.
· On I-75, one northbound lane will close just before and after Wade Green Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, two right southbound lanes will close between SR 120/South Marietta and SR 280/Delk Rd from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· On I-75, two northbound lanes will close between SR 280/Delk Road and SR 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway from 9 p.m., until 5 a.m., Friday and Sunday.
· On I-75, two right southbound lanes will close between SR 280/Delk Rd and SR 120/South Marietta from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· The I-75 southbound off-ramp to SR 280/Delk Rd will close from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday. Motorist traveling Delk Road eastbound and westbound traveling to I-75 Southbound will be directed to travel northbound on Franklin Gateway to South Marietta Parkway. Traffic will then be directed to turn right on South Marietta Parkway followed by another right to enter I-75 Southbound.
· On I-575, one left northbound lane will close between SR 92/Alabama Road and Ridgewalk Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
· A flagging operation will take place on Hawkins Store Road over I-575 from 9:30 a.m., until 4 p.m., Saturday.
South Metro Express Lanes
· On I-75, one right northbound lane will close moving to a double lane closure between SR 20/ SR 81 Hampton Road and Jodeco Rd/Flippen RD from 9 p.m., Thursday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
· On I-75, one southbound lane will close between I-675 interchange and Hudson Bridge Road continuously from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday, from 9 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
· On I-75, two southbound lanes will close between I-675 interchange and SR 155/N. McDonough Rd from 9 p.m., Sunday until 7 a.m., Monday.
· On I-75, two southbound lanes will close between the I-675 interchange and Hudson Bridge Road continuously from 9 p.m., Sunday until 7 a.m., Monday.
I-85 Express Lanes Extension
· On I-85, one southbound lane will be closed just before the SR 20 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
I-285
· The I-285 southbound off-ramp to US 278/US 78/SR 78/Hollowell Parkway will close from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· One southbound lane north of North Decatur Rd will close from 6 a.m., until 9 p.m., Saturday
· Two eastbound and westbound lanes will close at Atlanta Rd from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m. Sunday.
· Westbound exit to I-285 southbound will close 7 p.m. until 11 p.m., Saturday.
· Two eastbound lanes will close between SR 260/Glenwood Rd and I-20 from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· One westbound lane will close between I-20 and SR 260/Glenwood Rd from 11 p.m., until 5 a.m., Monday.
I-20
· Two eastbound lanes and shoulder will close between Six Flags parkway and the Downtown Connector from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· One westbound lane and shoulder will close between I-285 interchange and Fulton Industrial from 7 a.m., until 7 p.m., Saturday.
· Two westbound lanes and shoulder will close between the Downtown Connector and I-285 from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Sunday.
· Two westbound lanes and shoulder will close between the Downtown Connector and I-285 from 7:00 a.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector)
· Three northbound lanes and shoulder will close between University Ave and SR 101/Freedom Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday until 9 a.m., Saturday, from Saturday until 9 a.m., and from Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· Four southbound lanes will close between 10 St Overpass and Courtland St from 9 p.m., Thursday until 5 a.m., Friday.

· One southbound will close between Jonesboro Road and Hampton Road from 9 p.m., Thursday to 7 a.m., Friday.

· One southbound lane shift to S/ Marietta Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday to 5 a.m., Saturday.

· One northbound lane will close between SR 306/ Keith Bridge Road and SR 141/ Peachtree Parkway from 9 p.m., Friday until 12 p.m., Monday.
· The Georgia (State Route) 400 southbound on-ramp at the MARTA Station ramp will close from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

· On SR 9/ Main Street, one lane will close between Academy Street and the Forsyth County line from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
· On SR 236/ Lavista Road, two southbound lanes will close between I-285 and Briarcliff Road from 8 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
