Elsie Marie Benton, age 93, of Fayetteville

Mrs. Elsie Marie Benton, age 93, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29 at her residence.

She was born on April 9,1923 in Bonesteel, South Dakota to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dalay. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Stanley Benton, and one daughter Laura Steffen. They lived in Richland, Washington for over 50 years. When Stanley became ill she took care of him and then became an LPN and continued to care of people. She moved to Georgia 10 years ago to be closer to her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Julia Blackwell of Palmetto, Ga., one sister, Darlene Pell of Yakima, Washington, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, Washington.
