The national Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign began Aug. 22.  Law enforcement agencies around the country are cracking down on impaired drivers.

Peachtree City is currently experiencing a spike in impaired driving related collisions, with more than twice as many DUI collisions year to date as in 2015. The upcoming Labor Day weekend is traditionally a busy one for the highways of Georgia and also a time of increased impaired driving.

The Peachtree City Police Department will be participating in this campaign by conducting targeted enforcement efforts such as road checks aimed at removing dangerous drivers from the roadway.

If you see someone you think may be impaired driving a car or golf cart, call 911 immediately to report the incident. The dangers and consequences of driving a golf cart while impaired are just as bad as behind the wheel of a car.
