All Saints Anglican Church announces the addition of two new associate priests. Father Don Hutchens assumed the role of associate priest for pastoral care and outreach as of July 1, and Father Alan Hansen will focus in the areas of Christian discipleship and spiritual growth. Hansen came on board July 15.
Hutchens and his wife, Nancy, have been married 44 years. They have three children and two grandchildren. Married as Southern Baptists, the Hutchenses were drawn to worship through liturgy and were confirmed in the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.
After an extensive career in business, Hutchens attended seminary at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. He first served as rector of an Episcopal church in Maryland, then moved to Americus, where he led an Episcopal Church for four years. He later left to found an Anglican church in Americus. He currently serves as the dean of the South Georgia Convocation within the Anglican Diocese of the South.
Hansen and his wife, Teresa have been married for 36 years. They have three children and three grandchildren.
Hansen was ordained in 1982 and served congregations in Florida and Kentucky. In 2002, he was elected president and CEO of ACTS 29 Ministries in Atlanta where he developed over 50 hours of materials regarding congregational development including: leadership training, healing, lay ministry, stewardship, evangelism, the Holy Spirit, and strategic planning. He traveled extensively for over 10 years bringing these teachings to the church through weekends, retreats, clergy continuing education, and teaching at two seminaries.
