On June 5, National Cancer Survivor’s Day in the United States, the Cathedral of Christ the King launched its cancer care ministry, “Hope in Motion,” or “H.I.M.” In 2015, David Epps and Karen Romano-Taylor attended a 16-hour cancer training session at The Cancer Treatment Center in Newnan. With materials provided free by that facility, a program to train cancer care ministers at Christ the King was begun with Romano-Taylor serving as the instructor. With training completed, participants were certified both as Cancer Care Ministers, and as Licensed Liturgical Ministers.
