Two athletes from Fayette County came home with state championships from last weekend’s GHSA state track meet in Albany.
Alyssa LeClaire of McIntosh won both distance events, the 1,600- meter and 3,200-meter runs. Abigail Dickinson of Starr’s Mill took the title in the pole vault. Both competed in the AAAAA classification.
Starr’s Mill finished fourth as a team in AAAAA behind North Springs, Warner Robins and Chapel Hill. Landmark third in A behind Athens Academy and ELCA.
