Holly Grove plans fish fry, yard sale
Holly Grove AME Church will host a fish fry and yard sale on Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Enjoy southern fried fish plates, sandwiches, baked goods and shopping. Holly Grove is located at 400 Holly Grove Church Road in Peachtree City.

COS graduates to be recognized Sunday
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will celebrate two significant events this Sunday, May 15: The Feast of Pentecost and graduation. All are encouraged to wear red to the festival worship services all weekend. At 11 a.m. the Christ Our Shepherd Winds will provide music; this ensemble combines the Flute and Clarinet Choirs with the COS Brass, all under the baton of Karl Dietmeyer. Guest drummer/timpanist Dan DiCicco sits in with the winds. All graduating seniors will be recognized and offered gifts at this service, including winds players Morgan Hebert and Will Sanders.

Pastor to be honored
On Sunday May 15, at 10:30 a.m., Holly Grove AME Church will honor its pastor, J. Larry Ervin II, with a “Pastor’s Appreciation” celebration. Holly Grove AME Church is located at 400 Holly Grove Church Rd. Peachtree City.

Carol Kent to speak at FBCPTC
First Baptist Church Peachtree City, will host best-selling author Carol Kent on Thursday, May 19, from 6:30-8 p.m., speaking on “Embracing a New Kind of Normal.” Kent uses her family story, along with the story of Mary, mother of Jesus, and other women who have experienced their own “new normal,” to share how God has led them to choose life, gratitude, vulnerability, involvement, forgiveness, trust, and action. St. Gabriel’s yard sale is May 20, 21
St. Gabriel Catholic Church and the St. Vincent dePaul Society will have a yard sale Friday, May 20, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 21, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 152 Antioch Rd., Fayetteville (the multi-purpose building next to the church). For more information, call 770-461-0492.

Vietnam vets to be honored
On behalf of Senator Valencia Seay, District 34, and Pastor Dr. Randy Wood of Liberty Baptist Church, members of Liberty Baptist invite the community to participate and attend “The Vietnam War Commemoration Ceremony to Honor Our Vietnam War Veterans” Sunday, May 22,  from 2  – 3:30 p.m., at Liberty Baptist Church in Fayetteville.   Vietnam Veterans who would like to receive a pin and proclamation, may contact Ralph Carson, 404-345-8110, for additional information.
