Claudia Jean Middlebrooks, 85, of Fayetteville passed away on May 6, 2016 at her home.  She was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas.  

Her life was devoted to helping others.  She worked in a doctor’s office, but her main focus was her family.  God was her strength and she demonstrated that by the way she cared for her family and friends.

Mrs. Middlebrooks is survived by her husband, Claude Alfred (Al) Middlebrooks of Fayetteville, Ga.; her sister, Virginia Mayo Gober of Brownsville, Texas; her five children, Judy Llewellyn of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Debbie Stephenson of McDonough, Ga.; Peggy Watson and husband Jody of Woodstock, Ga., Sheryl Llewellyn of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Kurt Middlebrooks and wife Terri of Fayetteville, Ga.; her eight grandchildren, Cory, Michelle, Brent, Jacob, Mallory, Kristy, Kelli and Courtney; her thirteen great-grandchildren, Haley, Nicholas, Andrew, Nathan, Lauren, Savannah, Samantha, Sydney, Brody, Delaney, Brayden, Selah and Bravery; her six nieces, Gina, Laurie, Sharon, Linda, Susan and Cindy; and her five nephews, Jimmy, Michael, Edwin, Dale and Zach.  

The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Dr. David Campbell officiating.  The family received friends prior to the service.
