Louise Lee Knowles, born on September 19, 1929, of Fayetteville passed away on May 1, 2016.  

Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Edward Knowles; her parents, John Oma and Effie Jones Lee; her sister, Evelyn Lee Warren and brother, Esric Lee.  

She is survived by daughter, Rita Knowles McElwaney; sons, John E (Ann) Knowles, David (Angie) Knowles, and Ted (Connie) Knowles, as well as her “joys” – grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

A lifelong multi-generational Fayette Countian, Mrs. Knowles had been active in her church and community prior to her husband’s and then her own ill health.  She enjoyed working in her yard, loved flowers, gospel music and made the best pineapple coconut cake you could ever eat.  

Mrs. Knowles’ service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Pastor Wayne Sutton officiating. Her burial will immediately follow the service at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
