David Clyde Huether, age 65, of Fayetteville, Ga. went to be with the Lord on March 20.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alma of Fayetteville, Ga., four children, Brian Huether (Shelli) of Nolensville, Tenn., Robyn Thelamour (Anthony) of Fayetteville, Ga., Lindsey Dolan (Drew) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joy Huether of Nashville, Tenn., his brother Phillip Michael Huether of Hixson, Tenn., and sister Barbara Lee Huether of Columbia, S.C. His grandchildren are Lilia Grey Doyle, Anna Josephine Huether, and Levi Brian Huether.

He graduated from East Carolina University and earned a double Masters degree from Webster University. He commissioned into the Air Force in 1972 and served for 12 years as a T-38 and C-130 pilot, and retired from Delta Airlines after 27 years. He flew for Airtran for one year before being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2007. He played the banjo, guitar, mandolin, enjoyed running, and was an active member at Berachah Bible Church.

David was born in Baltimore, Md. and lived in various locations over the years as a military dependent before finally settling in Peachtree City, Ga. He was known for his kind and gentle nature, ability to make friends easily, and his constant service to others. He had an unyielding passion for cleanliness and was admired for his skill with a vacuum cleaner.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 3 p.m. at Berachah Bible Church in Jonesboro, Ga. The family will be greeting friends at a fellowship time starting at 2 p.m.
