The National Women’s History Project has selected a timely theme for 2016’s Women’s History Month: “Honoring Women in Public Service & Government.”

In celebration, the Southern Crescent Storytellers, the Helen K. Denton Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 3650, and the Friends of the Peachtree City Library are sponsoring a concert for all ages of stories by and about women who serve our government and our military.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, at 2 p.m. in the downstairs Floy Farr Room of the Peachtree City Library, 201 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City. Admission is free and includes a ticket for a raffle drawing.

The Southern Crescent Storytellers are a dedicated group of talented people who are committed to the arts in south Metro Atlanta, to the advancement of children’s literary accomplishments, and to helping make storytelling once again an integral part of culture and entertainment in Georgia and the Southeast.

The Friends of The Peachtree City Library, Inc. is a volunteer organization and a non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote community support for the Peachtree City Library and its programs.
