The Georgia Singers Company is presenting the musical production of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” Friday through Sunday, March 18-20, at Sams Auditorium, 205 Lafayette Ave. (Tiger Trail) in Fayetteville.
Showtimes: Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 2 and 6 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the door for $10.
In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, it is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Part of Your World.”
The Georgia Singers Company is the musical theater arm of the nonprofit group Georgia Singers, Inc. and provides drama classes and opportunity for participating in musical theater for boys and girls ages 8-18. A number of Fayette County students are involved in the group.
