The Fayette County Extension office is hosting “Composting – An Inexpensive Soil Amendment,” a class scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 12, 10 a.m.-noon in the public meeting from of the county administrative complex. There is a $10 fee for materials.

Compost is used as an organic amendment to improve physical, chemical and biological properties in the soil.  It is also one of the most practical and convenient ways to handle food and yard refuse while improving your soil and the plants growing in it.  Join Julie Aring, Master Composter, as she discusses the composting process and its benefits.

In order to have adequate seating and material, RSVP by calling 770-305-5412 X 7 or e-mail [email protected] (include the name(s) of those attending, the date/class you wish to attend, and contact information).
