Donald Royalty Goodrum, 87, of Fayetteville passed away January 18, 2016.  

He was an avid pilot, and served his country as a Naval Aviator.  He loved flying, and flew the maiden voyage of the first Martin 404, the airplane first used by Eastern Airlines during his employment there. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed computers. He spent his later years enjoying his children, his grandchildren and his greatgrandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Leota Goodrum; brother Tom Goodrum; and  daughter Karen Ferree.  

He is survived by his wife Georgia Goodrum of Fayetteville; son Don R. Goodrum and wife Michelle of Mesa, Ariz.; daughter Lisa Brown and her husband Jerry of Eustis, Fla.; daughter  Toni Turner and her husband Mark of Fayetteville; sister Janet Warner and her husband Jim of Louisville, Ky.; brother Daniel Goodrum and his wife Alice of Seattle, Wash.; sister Pat Pearl and her husband Richard of Louisville, Ky.; brother Robert Goodrum and his wife Nancy of Peachtree City; brother Michael Goodrum of Louisville, Ky; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a family celebration of life service held at a later date.
