Volunteers from the Peachtree City Rotary Club will oversee Christmas tree recycling Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Home Depot in Peachtree City as well as the Kroger in North Kedron Village.

The “Bring One for the Chipper” annual Christmas tree recycling program began in 1995 and now recycles more than 5,000 spent trees each year, according to Peachtree City Rotary Club President Russell Heil. This provides mulch for local citizens, parks, schools and local civic beautification projects.

Rotarians will be at both locations from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and will assist in unloading trees from car tops, pickup trucks and golf carts. There is no charge but donations are requested with 100 percent of the collections going to local charities.
