The 15th Annual Candlelight Concert at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church offers the return of exceptional talent and big names.

Brent Davis, Timothy Miller and Indra Thomas will join violinist Sonia Squires, pianist Rick Massengale and the Candlelight Orchestra for this treasured Christmas tradition. The concert will be held Sunday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.

“We have the same great singers as last year but with a totally new section of songs,” said Rick Massengale, music director.  “It promises to be a thrilling night of music.”

Atlanta native Indra Thomas, soprano, has sung in famous venues all over the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera and Carnegie Hall. Distinguished by her striking vocal beauty and the deep emotional impact of her singing, Thomas is also known for her smoldering intensity as a singing actress. She first came to wide-spread fame as a teen when she sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” in the movie “Driving Miss Daisy.”

Timothy Miller’s impressive baritone voice has been heard nationally and internationally with opera companies and as soloist for the funeral of the late Coretta Scott King as well as a featured performer for the 2011 Georgia gubernatorial inauguration. He may best be known, however, for his regular seventh-inning performance of “God Bless America” at the Atlanta Braves Games.

Virtually a standard to the Candlelight Concert stage is baritone Brent Davis, also nationally and internationally known for his opera performance and equally accomplished in his oratorio and song repertoire. He has performed with The Atlanta Opera, The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and other regional and national companies.

The Candlelight Concert is offered free to all in the community. A nursery is provided for children through age four.
