On a night marked mostly by nasty weather, the 2015 regular season came to an end for local high school football teams.

Northgate’s unbeaten streak came to an end with a 20-2 loss to Stockbridge, who won the Region 4-AAAAA for the second straight year. As region runner-up, the Vikings will open the state playoffs at home.

Sandy Creek’s 21-0 win over Fayette County means a second-place finish in Region 5-AAAA and a first-round home game in the state playoffs.

East Coweta prevailed 14-12 over South Cobb in a weather-shortened game to finish third in Region 3-AAAAAA.

Starr’s Mill led Dutchtown 38-7 at the end of the third quarter in a delayed game and appeared on its way to state playoffs with only one loss on the season.

McIntosh closed out the season with a 17-12 victory over Union Grove, while Whitewater fell 28-0 to Troup to finish the year.

Landmark led Our Lady of Mercy 28-7 in the fourth quarter of their Region 5-A matchup. Both teams await the A Private power rankings which will determine state playoff seedings.
