Joyce Margaret Wagner, 73, of Newnan, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Ashley Glen in Peachtree City.  

Joyce was born in Elgin, Ill. on March 22, 1942 to Blanche and Herbert Stumpf.  She grew up with her twin sister, Janet, in Gilberts, Ill. and graduated from St. Edward’s High School in Elgin. She earned her education degree from the University of Illinois.  After marriage, Joyce enjoyed raising her family, playing golf, tennis and bridge, and traveling. After moving to Louisiana, Joyce started her new career as a school psychologist. In retirement Joyce loved playing duplicate bridge, visiting her grandchildren, walking her dog Buddy, watching football with her son, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche Tobin Stumpf and Herbert Stumpf, and her loving husband of 42 years, Bernard R. Wagner.  

She is survived by her daughters Christine Poling (Nathan) of Peachtree City and Amy Covian (Juan) of Charlotte, and her son Gary Wagner of Duluth; her grandchildren Drew Covian (Laura), Mandy Odom (Zeke), Carson and Madeleine Poling; and her sister Janet Billings (Richard) of Cherry Hill, N.J.

The family will receive friends at Joyce’s home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 5.  The funeral mass will be held Friday, November 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan.  Burial will be at later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Gilberts, Ill.  Donations can be made to Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries in lieu of flowers.
