Northgate clinched the Region 4-AAAAA Subregion A title with Friday night’s 21-7 win over Starr’s Mill.
The Vikings are 9-0 overall and 6-0 in region play with next week’s play-in games to be scheduled. The Panthers are 8-1 and 5-1.
In the same region, McIntosh dropped to 3-6 with a 47-3 loss to Drew.
East Coweta lost 21-17 to Newnan, its second loss overall and in Region 3-AAAAAA.
In Region 5-AAAA, Sandy Creek improved to 6-2 and 3-1 with a 20-10 win over Carrollton. Fayette County even its region mark at 2-2 with a 37-35 win over Troup County. Whitewater remains winless in the region, losing 28-7 to Woodward Academy.
Landmark and Our Lady of Mercy have identical 2-1 records in Region 5-A games after Landmark defeated Strong Rock 41-0 and OLM fell 41-0 to ELCA. The War Eagles and Bobcats square off next week at Landmark.
