Mr. Howard Jackson Blessitt, age 81of Forsyth, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Monroe County Hospital.
Mr. Blessitt was born in Clayton County, Georgia on August 14, 1934. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Jackson Blessitt and Eunice Rebecca Turner-Blessitt; brother, George Blessitt. Mr. Blessitt was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Korean War, and was a retired mechanic. He was a member of Rock Springs Congregational Methodist Church, and also a member of the Masons and Shriners for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Blessitt; sons, Michael Blessitt and wife, Marsha, Kenneth Blessitt and wife, Martha, Gary Blessitt and wife, Ledeana, Mark Blessitt; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brother, James Blessitt and wife, Marylea of Fayette; sisters, Delores Wheatley and husband Johnny of Fayetteville, Dianne Wheatley of Hampton, Juanita Pate and husband, Robert of Shiloh, Peggy Taylor of Hampton; aunt Geneva Quick of Newnan; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Howard J. Blessitt was held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service was conducted on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Ballard officiated. Interment followed in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.
