Our city manager and professional staff do a fantastic job of operating the city. However, issues do arise that must be addressed by mayor and council. At that time we learn if we have elected representatives responsive to the citizens.
Clifton, Oddo and Edwards receive failing grades. Twice they endeavored to give away our fire department despite the overwhelming opposition of Fayetteville taxpayers. They showed the same disrespect and disdain for the voters concerning the massive apartment proposal on Grady Avenue.
We have a last minute write-in candidate. Forty percent of council votes from a husband/wife team does not represent everyone. This is not democracy.
Our families will be voting for Brewer and Shirley who are committed to voting the people’s will and Johnson who actually made the motion to save our fire department.
