State playoffs move to second round


Here is an update on the state volleyball playoffs as of Friday morning:

In AAAAAA, East Coweta won three straight against Tucker and will host North Gwinnett Oct. 20 in the second round.

In AAAAA, Northgate swept Druid Hills and McIntosh swept Creekside, while Starr’s Mill lost three to Dunwoody. In second-round action Oct. 20, Northgate will host Winder-Barrow and McIntosh will travel to Allatoona.

In AAAA, Whitewater and Sandy Creek both advanced with sweeps over Eagle’s Landing and Hampton. Sandy Creek will host Marist and Whitewater will play at St. Pius X in the second round Oct. 20.

In A, Landmark won three straight over Mt. Pisgah and will host Hebron in the next round.
