The annual Edward Franklin Thomas Cancer Awareness Walk at Edgefield Baptist Church is Saturday, Oct. 10, beginning at 9 a.m. Warmups begin at 8:30.
The walk was previously named the Shirley Thomas Breast Cancer Walk but the name was changed in memory of the church’s former pastor who transitioned due to cancer in 2011.
All proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society. There is no registration fee and all are free to walk.
Following the walk there will be a rally with speakers, information and giveaways.
Edgefield Baptist Church is at 140 Church Street in Fayetteville.
