Mr. Rufus O’Neal “Buck” Yarbrough, age 72, of Donalsonville, Ga. passed away Friday morning, September 25, 2015 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home.

    Funeral services for Mr. Yarbrough were held on Sunday afternoon, September 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church Donalsonville, Ga. with Rev. Byron Scott and Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Active casketbearers for the local service were Perry Price, Chris Thomas, Joe Burke, Kyle Dekle, Aaron Yarbrough, and Danny Watson. Honorary casketbearers were Don Dekle, Troy Palmer, and Michael Rogerson. Visitation was held on Saturday evening, September 26, 2015 at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Burial was held at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville, Ga. on Monday, September 28, 2015.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to “PawPaw’s Lil’ Punkins’ Fund” at Five Star Credit Union in honor of his grandchildren.

    Mr. Yarbrough was born in Mayo, Fla. on April 8, 1943 to Harry S. Yarbrough and Annie Lee Yancey Yarbrough. He served briefly in the United States Navy and then worked until his retirement with the United States Postal Service. Mr. Yarbrough was a member of First Baptist Church Donalsonville where he served as a deacon and former leader of the RAs. He was a former member of the Donalsonville Lions Club and enjoyed being a little league baseball coach for a number of years. He most definitely was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping.

    He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Melba Yarbrough of Donalsonville, Ga.; a daughter, Staci Hill and her husband Michael of Cleveland, Ga.; a son, Jason Yarbrough and his wife Kristy of Warner Robins, Ga.; and a brother, Doyle Yarbrough and his wife Kathy of Bonifay, Fla. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Destini, Brendan, and Lyndsi Hill and Addyson and Jett Yarbrough.

    Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Stewart Yarbrough and Annie Lee Yancey Yarbrough; a daughter, Traci Yarbrough; three brothers, Alan Yarbrough, Cleveland Yarbrough, and Randall Yarbrough; as well as a sister, Mary Magdeleine Sawyer.
