The Greater Fayette Republican Women’s Club Constitution Project for 2015 concluded with the Sept. 15 presentation of 1,500 pocket Constitutions for Fayette County fifth-graders and their teachers.

These booklets will be used for study during Constitution Week and the students may keep them for reference.

Contributions from local citizens, members of the GFRWC and the Fayette County Republican Party, and elected officials helped provided the funds for these booklets.

Books were packaged for each fifth-grade class at the 15 elementary schools in the county and were presented at a social studies teachers workshop at the office of Dr. Becky Ryckeley, coordinator of social studies for the Fayette County Public Schools.

Presenting the booklets were GFRWC President Alberta Lucas, Vice President Mary Kay Rudd, and Diane Basham, member of the Fayette County Board of Education and GFRWC member.
