Fayetteville may be getting another hotel. A proposal has been submitted that would lead to the construction of an 83-room Holiday Inn Express hotel on Ga. Highway 54 east of Piedmont Fayette Hospital and west of South Sandy Creek Road.
Situated on 3.85 acres, the property would be the site of an 83-room Holiday Inn Express, according to International Hotels Group (IHG).
A letter from IHG representatives Kamlesh and Bhavna Patel said the company identified the need for hotel space near Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Pinewood Atlanta Studios.
IHG said the current Holiday Inn Express located in downtown Fayetteville will be leaving the IHG system in April 2017.
“Therefore, we have been granted to construct a new Holiday Inn Express to replace that one with a brand new one,” IHG said.
The proposal will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission later in September and will likely be up for a vote in October.
