Flat Creek Baptist Church is hosting several upcoming events at the church.
On Saturday, Aug. 8, a “Beat the Heat” event will be held from 10 a.m. until noon. Activities will include a school supply giveaway, a free dental clinic, free haircuts at the “Slaughter Salon,” and more. The musical guest will be Jeff Slaughter.
B-Acts, an open fellowship group for adults 50 years old and older, will have its next dinner meeting Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m., featuring comedian and magician Buddy Lamb from Columbus, Ga. Regular members are asked to bring a vegetable and a salad or desert. Meat is provided. Guests are welcome.
The group meets at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month, except in January, June and October, in the fellowship hall, which can be reached through the Welcome Center at the rear of the campus.
The Disciple Cafe weekly fellowship dinner was suspended for the summer but will resume Wednesday night, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m.
A reservation is required. Call the church office (770-487-4890 Ext #222) by 9 a.m. on Monday, prior to the meal you will attend. The cost is $5 each for those 12 years old and older, $2.50 for those 11 years old and younger, with a $25 family cap for immediate family.
Meal service begins at 5 p.m. and closes at 6 p.m.
