Hard work and practice paid off for Sandy Creek High’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) at the association’s annual national leadership conference.

Seven FBLA members from Sandy Creek qualified in their event areas at the state competition, and advanced to represent Georgia at the FBLA 2015 National Leadership Conference held this summer in Chicago. They are Megan D’Errico, Jacob Reynolds, Ellie Klarl, Tara McAfee, Kyle Craven, Chidera Obinali, and Krystian Rojas.

The hospitality team of Ellie Klarl and Jacob Reynolds placed fourth in the nation; the 3D animation team of Tara McAfee, Kyle Craven, and Krystian Rojas landed in the finals, placing 15th in the nation.

There were more than 8,500 high school students from throughout the nation participating in over 55 business-related competitive events, and attending workshops to hone their business skills and expand their networks.

FBLA is the largest and oldest student business organization. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
