Ted (Rock) Jeffrey Knapp passed away on July 6, 2015 at the age of 58.

He was born in Des Moines, Iowa and grew up in Kankakee, Ill. Ted attended Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wis. He was a high school football coach, radio talk show host and motivational speaker, but happiest with the title of “Big Poppy” to his grandchildren. In 2008, he was diagnosed with two terminal diseases.

Ted is survived by his wife of 35 years Shari Lykins Knapp; five children Teddy Knapp (Erin), Katie Smith (Johnny), Kelsey Murphy (Joe), Nile and Kirby Knapp; nine grandchildren Emily Todzia, Ella, William and Colton Knapp, Grant, Haley and Abigail Smith, Kylar and Joey Murphy; his father Ted R. Knapp; and sister Tammy Maki (Mike) of Austin, Texas.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
