The Fayette Visioning Initiative, the community-led project to implement a five-year vision plan for Fayette County, has launched a new website and online community calendar. The new site allows users to easily access information about the Vision process as well as stay up to date about recent work being done within its Implementation Teams—Education, Prosperity, Community and Place.

In addition to reporting on work that is being done by each volunteer-led Implementation Team, the website will also update news about events and activities happening in Fayette County that are aligned with the goals and objectives of the vision plan adopted in 2014.

“The purpose of the Visioning Initiative is not only to implement ideas that will create a world class Fayette County, but also to champion the wonderful work already being done by residents and local entities,” said Larris Marks, Chair of the Fayette Visioning Initiative. “Stories you find on the new website show that Fayette County citizens and stakeholders are actively engaged in and are passionate about our community.”

Also included on the new Visioning website is a community calendar that houses Fayette County community-wide events and activities.

“One issue uncovered in Visioning’s initial Competitive Assessment was the need for a central location where residents and visitors could find events happening in our county,” said Marks.  “This calendar can serve as that central portal where the community can post event information and where site users can easily access it.”

The website and community calendar can be found at www.FayetteVision.org.
