The Fayette County Board of Commissioners is expected to consider two annexation proposals regarding Fayetteville and two rezoning requests as well as the 2016 budget at its regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 25, at the county administrative complex in Fayetteville.

The final required public hearing for the budget is on the agenda for the meeting, and the board will likely vote to approve the budget at that time. The 2016 fiscal year begins July 1.

A public hearing is set for the proposed rezoning of 6.206 acres from A-R to R-70 for a single-family residential subdivision fronting on New Hope Road and Kenwood Road. Also under consideration is a request to revise the development plan for the Elysian Fields conservation subdivision on Lee’s Lake Road and Coastline Road.

A request to rezone 51.29 acres on Kite Lake Road from A-R to R-50 has been withdrawn by the applicant. The only other public hearing on the agenda is a transfer request for an existing retail alcohol, beer and wine license at DJ One Stop on Ga. Highway 85 in Fayetteville.

One of the proposed Fayetteville annexations involves 467 Veterans Parkway and a rezoning from R-70 to PCD (planned community development). The other is for 200 Hunters Glen and 100 S. Morning Drive in Quail Hollow subdivision, where the zoning will remain R-40.

The board will also consider a staff recommendation to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Tyrone for the provision of code enforcement services.

The consent agenda includes intergovernmental agreements with Brooks, Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone and Woolsey that would authorize the Fayette County Board of Elections to act as superintendent for all 2015 elections in those municipalities.

Other consent agenda items include a property and casualty insurance policy for the 2016 fiscal year, an updated hazard mitigation plan, and a $1,363,485 contract for the purchase of asphalt during the coming year.

The board will recognize volunteers at the Fayette County Public Library and present certificates of achievement earned by county staff for excellence in financial reporting.
