Bob J. Curry, age 82, of Sharpsburg, Ga., died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanette Bobo Curry; his children, James Curry of Fayetteville, Ga., Deborah Curry of Austin, Texas, Bruce Curry and his wife Carole of Peachtree City, Ga.; five grandchildren, Lee Curry of Gastonia, N.C., Katie Barter Digby and her husband, Sean of Peachtree City, Ga., Benjamin Barter of Atlanta, Ga., William Curry of Delray Beach, Fla., and Kristen Curry of Peachtree City, Ga.; and one brother, James William Curry of Mobile, Ala.

Bob was born on September 14, 1932 in Laurel, Miss. to Lola Mae and James William Curry. He married Jeanette Bobo in Meridian, Miss. on February 25, 1951. Bob grew up in Laurel, Miss. and attended Livingston State University. He then went on to attend the American Institute of Baking in Chicago, Ill. which led to his first successful career in baking, manufacturing of food products, and nationwide food product sales. In 1983, Bob began a new career with his two sons, James and Bruce, and created a company known as Curry Asphalt Paving and Repairs. Upon Bob’s retirement, the company was continued on under the guidance of his two sons.

Visitation was held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, Ga. on Friday June 19, 2015 at 3 p.m. A memorial service followed the visitation at the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Terry Butler officiating. Since Bob was a 32nd degree Mason, there was a special Masonic ceremony performed at the close of the Memorial Service. The family requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Salvation Army or the Atlanta Humane Society.
