Fayette Senior Services has completed the first phase of a two-part building expansion and remodeling project that has been in the planning stages for over a year.

All involved are very happy to see the completion of a 1,600-square-foot space to help accommodate FSS’ continuously growing programs offered.

“Our members are so excited about the new room expansion they can hardly stand it. We have a growing group of active seniors who are spreading the word about FSS, and that only means we will continue to see the growth,” said FSS fitness instructor Miriam Jones. “Isn’t this what it’s really about – the health and well-being of our seniors in the community?”

Phase one included the renovation of three rooms within the existing structure. It provides much-needed additional space to help seniors in the community live well and age well. With the help and support of senior members and the local community, FSS was able to raise the necessary funds in efforts to help make this modification possible.

FSS is accepting donations for additional fitness and educational equipment for the expanded space. To donate, contact Amy Frizzell, FSS business development manager, at 770-461-0813.
