Gabe Calderon built five large utility tables for the Real Life Center as his 2015 Eagle Scout project. The tables will be used to sort incoming donations of food, clothing and home décor.

Through the project’s completion he “has shown his local community that he is a reliable young man and that he has a servant’s heart,” according to a spokesperson.

“I wanted to pick a project which would continue to help the Real Life Center on a long-term basis and which would be meaningful for their operations,” said Calderon.

When asked about his biggest learnings during the project, the scout stated that he learned a lot about leading by example and fostering trust.

He chose the Real Life Center because of its mission of investing in families long-term and training them for life.

Calderon just graduated from high school and will go on a mission trip for the next two years. Upon return, he plans to enroll in school to study music technology and production.
