The Peachtree City Running Club has begun its 2015 Summer Track Series, which will run weekly for the next month. It is open to runners of all ages and abilities.
Events are each Wednesday from now through July 1. The championship meets are July 8-9. All meets are at Riley Field adjacent to Peachtree City Elementary School on Wisdom Road.
Registration starts at 6 p.m. and the first event is at 6:15. The meets are free for runners as well as spectators.
Running events include the 50-yard dash (age 10 and under) and runs of 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 5000 meters, along with relays of 400 and 1600 meters.
There are no field events.
Events will be run in various heats based on the number of runners. In the championship series events will be run in heats based on age groups and gender.
The track surface is rubberized and soft. All timing is done by electronic equipment.
