In early May, state school superintendent Richard Woods kicked off Teacher Appreciation Month by visiting a few teachers across the state, including one local educator considered an institution in the community.
Barbara Landreth has been an English teacher for 53 years and has taught in the same classroom at Newnan High School for 51 of those years, making her one of the longest-serving teachers in the state.
During his visit, Superintendent Woods got the chance to talk with her about the ways she’s seen education change during her tenure as well as her suggestions to improve student learning.
