The public is invited to observe Memorial Day at City Hall in Peachtree City.

The ceremony begins Monday, May 25, at 9 a.m.

“While we honor all of our nation’s fallen on this most solemn of days, this year’s ceremony brings the purpose of this holiday much closer to home,” according to a spokesperson. “Peachtree City is blessed that many of its residents are veterans of all our nation’s services. Further, the efforts of our local veteran organizations such as our local VFW Post 9949, American Legion Post 50, and our local Marine Corps League continue to distinguish themselves year after year with countless hours of volunteer service throughout our community.”

This year’s event will celebrate the memory of two former Peachtree City residents who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the military: Sgt. First Class Shawn McCloskey, a Green Beret; and Lance Corporal Josh Isaac, a Marine.
