FCREA honors local students

Fayette County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jody Barrow assisted the Fayette County Retired Educators Association in presenting the 2015 Outstanding Middle School Student Award. The recipients were: Jada Brooks, Bennett’s Middle School; Marcus Phelps, Flat Rock Middle School; Carryanne Wilson, J.C. Booth Middle School; Athena Higgins, Rising Starr Middle School; and Jason Gordon, Whitewater Middle School.

Each year FCREA awards a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior planning to enter the teaching profession. The 2015 recipient is Kaylee Lloyd of McIntosh High School.
