The Whitewater Wildcats continue their march through the GHSA state baseball tournament’s AAAA bracket and are now bound for the round of 8.
The Wildcats took two out of three games in the second round against Pike County to set up a quarterfinal matchup next week against North Hall.
After winning the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader 3-1 over Pike County, Whitewater fell 1-0 in the nightcap to force a third game Thursday.
That game was a 12-1 for the home team, and the Wildcats will continue to play at home through the next round as well.
Whitewater was last season’s AAAAA state runner-up, losing to Houston County in the championship series.
