Wallace Cook Jones was born in Okemah, Okla. on April 19, 1934, one of 11 children born to Edward Jones and Alma Dillard Jones.

A longtime resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, he moved to Peachtree City, Ga. in 1993.

Wallace passed on April 29, 2015 in Fayetteville, Ga. following a sudden illness.

He completed high school in Boley, Okla. and afterwards enlisted in the United States Army where he served for over six years during and after the Korean War. Following honorable discharge he settled in California and worked for United Airlines as an aviation electrician, eventually retiring after 37 years of employment. A 36 year member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, he was also a skilled craftsman as well as an avid gardener.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Carmen Gudes Jones of Peachtree City; his daughter, Ana Maria Jones of San Jose, Calif.; two sons Carlos Antonio Jones of Glendale, Ariz. and Michael David Jones of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Mariano Charles, Selia Carter and Solange Carter all of San Jose, Calif.; a brother L. Sam Jones of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister, Geraldine Brown of Fairfield, Calif. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May, 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City.
