After two weeks of rained out events, Senoia Raceway will fire back up this weekend with the 5th Annual Spring Fling.

For the first time, the Spring Fling will feature Super Late Models vying for the coveted title and a $3,000 pay day.  In previous years, the race has always featured the Limited Late Models.

The 2015 Spring Fling for the Super Late Models offers the largest purse backed by the trio of new promoters and should feature some of the best Super Late Model competitors to visit the track since it’s reintroduction of the high powered racing machines in early March of this year.

“We are excited for this weekend,” promoter Mayes Massey said.  “We think the track has become pretty racy and the drivers who have come here this year have said they can race multiple grooves.  Saturday night should give the fans a show they have not seen on this Bull Ring in a long, long time.”

Senoia’s Clint ‘Cat Daddy’ Smith has dominated the season going four for four in Super Late Model competition at Senoia Raceway.  Colbert’s Kenny Collins bested him in qualifying two weeks ago, but could not fend off the former four time champion of the Southern All-Stars Late Model Tour in the feature race.  Winston’s Michael Page gave him a run for his money in late March, but also fell short when the checkered flag fell that night.

Smith is expecting strong competition including Collins and Page to roll in for the Spring Fling on Saturday night.

“These guys and others will make me work harder this Saturday,” Smith said.  “The track has gotten smoother with all the work Doug (Stevens) and his team have done over the past month.  That (smoother surface) may take away my advantage.  Hopefully we can stay out front and maintain our win streak.”

This weekend’s racing schedule will also include the ‘Battle of the B Cadets’ which has been postponed the previous two weeks due to the rain.  Last Saturday, 16 drivers signed in to compete for the ‘Bonus’ money only to have competition washed out by the late afternoon thunderstorm.  Seven previous feature winners were ready to do battle and are expected back for this weekend’s event.

Also on the racing card this Saturday is the Limited Late Models, Crate Late Models, Hobby Stock, Bomber and Mini Stock.  Most divisions will be competing in qualifying time trials, heat races and then feature races.

Fans can also look forward to a special autograph session and Super Late Model driver meet and greet prior to the Spring Fling feature race.  Drivers will be in the grandstand area to meet with race fans for about 30 minutes.

Senoia Raceway is located just five miles west of Senoia on GA Highway 16.
