An employee on an outside break from the Banks Crossing Kroger store in Fayetteville was robbed on April 11 by a man in the parking lot who was believed to be armed.

Fayetteville Detective Mike Whitlow said the robbery at the North Glynn Street store occurred on April 11 at approximately 7 p.m. when the female employee exited the store while on break and went to her vehicle.

She was approached by a black or Hispanic male who demanded money, Whitlow said. The woman complied, Whitlow said, noting that she believed that the man had a gun in his possession because he had a hand in his pocket. The man fled on foot, Whitlow said.

Whitlow said the man was described at black or Hispanic, six feet in height and weighing approximately 200 pounds. The man had a dark, scruffy beard and was wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and a black hat.

Investigators are currently reviewing the store’s surveillance video.
