Fayette Senior Services is hosting its first volunteer expo Tuesday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so potential and current volunteers can see the opportunities available in all kinds of community organizations and find spots that best suit them.

The expo is set at the Fayetteville location of Fayette Senior Services (FSS), 4 Center Drive.

Visit and talk to representatives from a wide range of community-based organizations that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.

Participating organizations include: Fayette Senior Services, Fayette Care Clinic, Promise Place, UGA Fayette Extension Office, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Special Olympics, Clothes Less Traveled, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Fayette Thrift Shop, Peachtree City Parks and Recreation, Fayette Humane Society, Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center, Alzheimer’s Association, Grandparents and Kin Raising Grandkids, and United Way.

Stop by and meet with all organizations to hear not only about their volunteer opportunities, but also to learn more about each one and how they make a real difference in the community.

Each organization will showcase volunteer and advocacy opportunities in areas where help be the change that is needed. Discover what it means to volunteer with each organization and find the best fit for specific interests and passions.

“This event will be the perfect occasion for anyone interested in volunteering,” said event organizer and FSS Volunteer Coordinator Amy Epperson. “At Fayette Senior Services, we rely heavily on our amazing group of volunteers and understand that you can never have too much support. We hope this event will demonstrate the importance of volunteerism as well as express the need for volunteers throughout our community.”

The FSS volunteer program opportunities include from Meals On Wheels drivers, tool team home repairs, café assistant, front desk receptionist, fitness center monitor, special events team, gardening team, golf cart driver, and STARS program assistant. Volunteers help at both Fayetteville and Peachtree City locations.
