Starr’s Mill High School will host its first-ever youth pageants next month as a benefit for the Miss Starr’s Mill Scholarship program.
The Little Miss Starr’s Mill Pageant, for girls in grades 3-5, and the Young Miss Starr’s Mill Pageant, for girls in grades 6-8, will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively, in Duke Auditorium on the Starr’s Mill campus.
Any girl who is a student in Fayette County and enrolled in grades 3-8 is eligible to participate.
Each contestant will compete in age-appropriate attire and answer an age-appropriate question. Awards at each pageant will be given for Best Smile, Best On-Stage Presence and Best On-Stage Question, along with a Winner and 1st Runner Up. Optional Most Photogenic is available for all contestants, and a Talent Competition is optional for contestants in the Young Miss Pageant.
Contestants must complete an application and return it to Starr’s Mill (193 Panther Path, Fayetteville, Ga., 30215) along with an entry fee ($75 for Young Miss and $50 for Little Miss) by March 30 at 4 p.m. Only the first 50 contestants will be accepted in each category.

A mandatory rehearsal will be held in the auditorium on Friday, April 17, at 4 p.m. for
Little Miss contestants and at 7 p.m. for Young Miss contestants.
Admission to each pageant is $5. Proceeds from the pageants will support the three Starr’s Mill students who will compete in the Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen Pageant in June: Miss Peachtree City Outstanding Teen Hollyn Shadinger, Miss Starr’s Mill Outstanding Teen Yuri-Grace Ohashi, and Miss Southern Fayette Outstanding Teen Alexa Echevarria.
