Clayton State University’s renowned Spivey Hall has announced April programming that includes 10 concerts, including six performances from Clayton State University’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts Division of Music.

The performances rang from opera to jazz, and include the final season concerts in the piano, vocal, and string and woodwind series.

“April brings us extraordinary artists welcomed on the music world’s most prestigious stages,” said Sam Dixon, executive and artistic director of Spivey Hall. “We are delighted by the return of the incomparable Australian Chamber Orchestra, and are honored to present phenomenally gifted vocalists and pianists to perform for our audiences.”

April concerts include three notable Spivey debuts – the brilliant Swedish clarinetist Martin Fröst, performing with the  Australian Chamber Orchestra led by charismatic violinist Richard Tognetti; German soprano Dorothea Röschmann, who performs with returning pianist Mitsuko Uchida, named  Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2009; and British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor. British tenor and CBE Ian Bostridge, an Atlanta and Spivey Hall favorite, performs Schubert’s complete Winterreise with pianist Wenwen Du for the annual Spivey Memorial Concert honoring the legacy of Walter and Emilie Spivey.
