The SouthTowne General Motors Superstore in Newnan is joining forces with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program to provide the Sharpsburg Youth Baseball League with new equipment, free instructional clinics, and a monetary contribution.
Southtowne is also encouraging others to earn additional donations for the league through a “Test Drive Fundraiser.”
“Playing the game of baseball helps kids develop skills like leadership, cooperation and sportsmanship, while bringing families and communities together,” said Steve Mader, General Manager for The SouthTowne General Motors Superstore. “To show our support, SouthTowne and Chevrolet Youth Baseball are proud to participate in a sport that brings so many smiles to kids and families in Newnan.”
The SouthTowne General Motors Superstore will present the Sharpsburg Youth Baseball League with an equipment kit that includes bags, batting tees, catcher’s gear, water bottles and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts. The youth clinics will feature current and former Major League players and coaches, as well as instructors from Ripken Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Chevrolet’s Youth Baseball program. Since its inception, the program has assisted youth leagues across the country, benefiting more than 3.5 million young people.
In addition to its commitment to youth baseball, Chevrolet also is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball.
The Southtowne General Motors Superstore has been in business for over 23 years and has sold over 55,000 new and used cars, trucks and SUVS.
