Piedmont Newnan Hospital’s Sixty Plus Services is hosting a workshop for caregivers of family and friends suffering from dementia on Wednesday, March 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The workshop, “Caregiving for Loved Ones With Dementia,” will address types and stages of dementia, community resources, financial and legal concerns, communication techniques and the role of medications in managing challenging behaviors.

“We know that caregivers can easily and quickly find themselves dealing with an enormous amount of stress,” said Tori Sorrells, coordinator of Sixty Plus Services at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The goal of this workshop is to provide them with the right tools and resources to help ease the tremendous pressure they’re under, as well as those very common feelings of grief and isolation.”
