Mrs. Ruth Swink Russell, age 87, of Jefferson Ga., formerly of Thomaston, died Friday February 6, 2015 in Jefferson Ga.
Mrs. Russell was born on April 30, 1927 in Pelham Ga. to the late Oscar Leland and Anna Juanith Swink. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry Luther Russell.
She worked as a lunchroom lady at Atwater School and was the first School Bus Driver in Upson County.
Mrs. Russell is survived by her daughters, Shelia (Raymond) Phillips of Jefferson Ga., LaRose (Buck) Jones of Decatur; son, Donnie (Elaine) Russell of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Adam (Dana) Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Kim (Mark) Flanzer, and Rod (Lisa) Jones; great-grandchildren, Ella, Koen, and Raya Phillips; Zoe, Sam and Ayla Flanzer, and Cole Jones.
Funeral services for Mrs. Russell was held Sunday February 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial following in Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends on Sunday February 8, 2015 at Coggins Funeral Home.
