One of today’s greatest organists, Thomas Trotter, will make his Spivey Hall debut Saturday, Feb. 21.
Trotter’s debut program will showcase his technical prowess and impressive artistry with works such as Marcel Dupré,Passion Symphony, First Movement: “The World Awaiting the Saviour” and Johann Sebastian Bach, Trio Sonata No. 1 in E-flat major, BWV 525, as well as his own arrangements of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” (of Disney Fantasia film fame) by Paul Dukas and Felix Mendelssohn, “Overture to St. Paul.”
Known for his inventive programs and engaging commentary from the stage, Trotter is a master organist whose performances consistently enthrall audiences.
He serves as the Birmingham (England) City Organist, as well as organist at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, and visiting Fellow in Organ Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.
